The Agropalma Group started its palm oil and palm kernel oil production and extraction activities in 1982 in the Tailândia district, 150 km from the capital Belém, leading nowadays the palm oil production in Latin America, plus controlling the entire production chain, from seedling to refined oil, vegetable fats and margarine.

The Agropalma Group consists of the following companies:

Agropalma S/A
Companhia Refinadora da Amazônia

The oil produced by the Agropalma Group is recognized worldwide for its high quality.  Crude oil acidity level limit established by the international market is up to 5%. The oil produced by the Agropalma Group exceeds all expectations and presents acidity level as low as 2%.

The Agropalma Group directly employs more than 2.800 people who live in agro communities provided by the Group, with complete water, electricity and sewage infrastructure. Communities are also provided with schools, clubs, supermarkets, hospital and a post office agency as well as a modern system of voice and data communication, connecting the projects to Belém and São Paulo.

The refinery has a production capacity of 320/tonnes/day.

Agropalma’s  entire refining process is physical with no chemical inputs employed and therefore, considered one of the most modern in the world, and totally controlled by leading edge technology equipment.

The palm oil and its fractions are widely employed in the oils and fats industry, such as: industrial frying, extruded spraying, chocolate, pasta, margarines, vegetable spreads, cookies, ice cream, cosmetics, detergents and soaps.
