FOOD SAFETY

Food Quality and Safety

Throughout our journey, we act with respect for people. As a company that provides solutions for various sectors of the food industry, this means ensuring that our products are safe for all of them, from the professionals who handle them on a daily basis to the consumers of the food produced by our customers.

To ensure the integrity of this entire production cycle, our Food Safety Team (ESA) – an experienced and constantly updated multidisciplinary team – works to maintain a Culture of Food Quality and Safety at Agropalma, based on our Food Quality and Safety Policy.

For this purpose, we have a strict Food Safety Management System (SGSA), a set of procedures and tools that allow us to identify, control and prevent food safety risks, as well as always acting ethically and combating fraud. SGSA guides our performance in three axes:

Production

Hazards related to product manufacturing are identified, assessed and controlled so that they do not cause direct or indirect harm to the food safety of customers and other players in the food production chain.

Information

Where applicable, matters relating to product safety are duly communicated, as well as information relating to the development, implementation and updating of SGSA, with a focus on maintaining food safety.

Update

Ensuring that SGSA reflects the organization’s activities and includes the latest information on the safety hazards of the food produced by it, by assessing and updating it when necessary.

Our SGSA is based on the application of the Standards and Requirements that make up FSSC 22000 international certification framework, which certifies the safety of food throughout its entire chain, from primary production to packaging and distribution:

Seals and certifications

We emphasize our commitment to people and nature, bearing seals and credentials for our certification, – thus adding value to our products.

Our partnerships

We cultivate and maintain long-standing partnerships, always on behalf of people, local communities, our employees and biodiversity. These partnerships bring us knowledge and expertises which we do not possess, aggregating a critical view to our processes.

22 years of work and headquartered at Belém/PA, it aims to facilitate empowerment processes for social organizations and appreciation of sociobiodiversity. In joint effort with the institute, we have implemented a positive impact agenda in Vila dos Palmares, where most Agropalma workers live.

Conservação Internacional (CI- Brasil) is a Brazilian non-profit organization created in 1990 with the goal of working towards a healthier and more productive planet for everyone. Our partnership enables broader monitoring of biodiversity and conservation of the Centro de Endemismo de Belém (CEB).

Considered one of the largest NGOs of the country, it was officially founded in 1992 and promotes actions towards environmental protection, undertaking several causes and helping populations implement ecofriendly practices. Along with us, it supports the Iniciativa Nacional para a Conservação da Anta Brasileira (National Initiative for Preservation of the Brazilian Tapir – INCAB).

Earthworm Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to solving the social and environmental challenges faced by our world, working pragmatically from boardrooms to farms, feet in the field. Earthworm Foundation has guided Agropalma in the development and selection of the methodologies applied in the field and in the technical training of the social and environmental team to create SOMAR program.
