Agropalma, the largest sustainable palm oil producer of the American continent, has promoted free movie sessions between December 08 and 19, in Moju (PA).

Nearly 3000 people were present during sessions that were held at Vila Boa Esperança, Vila Arauaí, Vila Olho D’Água and the central square of the municipality of Moju, which had the largest gathering (over 900 attendants).

The audience included children, teenagers and adults. The movies Minha Mãe É Uma Peça 3, Aladdin and The Lion King, exhibited at 4 PM and 7 PM, had the biggest audiences, mostly comprised of children.

The Agropalma Traveling Movie Theater was intended for all surrounding communities. The movie room had 78 seats and acoustic insulation, an air conditioning system, the classic popcorn, stereo sound, an independent power generator and access elevator for people with disabilities.

The movie programme included a selection of family movies: Moana, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Beauty and the Beast, in addition to the blockbusters listed above. Sessions were free of charge and held at 8h AM, 10 AM, 2 PM, 4 PM, and 7 PM. In addition to tickets, soft drinks and a miniature of the cinema truck were distributed to the audience by the support team.

According to Wander Antunes, Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility coordinator at Agropalma, the company wishes to expand its positive impact in the region even further, contributing not only to social and economic development of the locations where it is inserted, but also to the dissemination of culture to the surrounding communities. “Cine Agropalma provided the region’s inhabitants with the opportunity to watch blockbusters that are unanimous among Brazilian audiences. It was a unique experience for many people who have never set foot in a movie theater before. The company is already considering extending the project into 2023, since the reception by the audience was excellent”, says the executive.

Cine Agropalma is a project under the Culture Incentive law and is sponsored by Agropalma, with support from VR Serviços e Projetos Com Incentivo, a 40-year old company from Pará working towards preservation of forests and biodiversity, in addition to contributing to the economic and social development of local communities.

Agropalma has always been concerned with caring and providing welfare and quality of life to employees and all members of its surrounding communities.
